Sewn & Painted Clothing & Costume Designs

I have been sewing and designing clothing since I was five years old.

Painting images on cotton clothing became an early passion when I was a budding teenager.

I purchased my own SuperNova Julia, an antique Italian sewing machine when I was fifteen.

I have designed wrap-around genie pants, all sorts of baby clothes, and was hired repeatedly for people in need of specialty items they could not find in stores.

My favorite project challenge displayed below are the person-sized butterfly wing costumes. I designed and painted and constructed them to be worn on a backpack that easily comes apart via velcro and packs up in its own 3’ x 5’ thin nylon carry bag for ease of transport and fits in a compact vehicle. These were both commissioned by the East Bay Regional Park District for Coyote Hills Park.
