After spending a few years altering and manipulating photos in PhotoShop & Illustrator on a desk top iMac for many years, I began using my iPad to create or alter and collage photo images, or rework photos of my own artwork on an iPad in 2018.
I find this a very useful tool for creating layouts and moc-ups for murals, as well as moving more quickly forward to finishing a painting by experimenting with where I want to go with it digitally first.
I even embellished photos I have taken in my neighborhood, such as the red image which is a reflection in a car head light up close… that I messed with, and drew over it with textured digital mediums tools.
